There is a common myth that once a person enters a hospice, he will not leave it.
THIS IS NOT ALWAYS SO.
Each patient has his own individual situation. Someone is discharged from the hospice home after choosing analgesic therapy, while someone really needs round-the-clock medical supervision.
Some patients require specialized care that cannot be provided at home — this happens, for example, with various complications.
But it also happens that the patient’s condition improves, and this may be the reason for his discharge home.
The life of a child in a hospice is in many ways similar to the ordinary, everyday life of each of us: in the morning they also have breakfast, drink juices, watch TV, play video games, read books.
At the hospice, you can go out for a walk or order food delivery at any time of the day. Guests come here, as in any home, and sometimes they gather to listen to music, socialize, or play board games.
There are often parties and celebrations in the hospice: birthdays, and just celebrating a new quiet day.
Here you can read, sing, talk loudly, cry and laugh!
Cherished desires are fulfilled here! We are supported by sponsors and many volunteers!
The staff of the children’s hospice consists of people who have received special training organized by the MASHAV organization of the Embassy of Israel and the “EZGU AMAL” public foundation.
