The hospice was opened in August 2022 on the initiative of the EZGU AMAL Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan and a number of partners. It is located in the Zangiata Specialized Multidisciplinary Hospital and has become the first center in the country where children and their families can receive comprehensive medical, psychological and social support.

The hospice creates a comfortable environment for young patients and their families, providing them with the necessary assistance in the last moments of life. Here, children receive painkillers, antiemetics and proper nutrition, as well as psychosocial support.

Comfortable wards are equipped with everything necessary to make the stay of children and their parents as comfortable and painless as possible. The hospice also has specially trained staff, including doctors, nurses, psychologists and social workers, who are ready to help children and their families cope with physical and emotional difficulties.
The hospice pays special attention to the education and training of medical workers, as well as the development of the palliative care system as a whole. Hospice “Taskin” has become a platform for training specialists throughout the country, which makes palliative care accessible and effective for all those in need.
The hospice project brought together many people and organizations. The state provided the building and funding for staff salaries, and the rest of the funds were raised through donations from citizens and companies. The total amount of donations was more than 1 billion soums. Today, the EZGU AMAL Foundation continues to support the hospice, attracting large companies to cooperate. For example, ARTEL finances monthly additional payments to the hospice employees’ salaries, and UZCARD provides three meals a day for all residents and employees.
Taskin Hospice is not only a place where children receive care and support, but also an example of how the joint efforts of the state, business and society can create a vital system of assistance for the most vulnerable.
